Click on "Photos" above. **************************** We are very pleased to announce that Rick Knight will be joining us, doing what he does best, describing the action here at Silver Dollar Raceway, starting some time in the near future. Rick's experience behind the microphone will bring a new and different perspective to our sport. Rick is well-known in the middle Georgia area for being a most popular radio personality and we are sure these skills will serve him well as a drag racing announcer. Rick will soon also resume his "Rick Knight Road Show" on WMCG - FM 104.9. Rick's arrival is being delayed by some conditions beyond his control, but this should be over soon. ****************************
Summit Racing Equipment's McDonough store has come on board as the sponsor for Quarter-mile bracket racing and Open Comp for the '08 season. We have scheduled seven quarter-mile ET events and six Open Comp races to be run in conjunction with our "Quarter-mile Saturdays". Check the "Schedule" page for these dates. Check the "News" page for details of O/C and ET racing on "Quarter-mile Saturdays". ****************************
DeFoor Drywall and Acoustical Supply will be continuing the $1,000 bonus for a the first win with a dead-on run that starts with a perfect reaction time in eliminations in a Jerry Barker Chevrolet ET Series event. **************************** Notes from the Tower
I would like to inform the Jr. Dragster drivers of a great opportunity that has come about. I have been trying to find someone to sponsor our series for the young drivers and I finally found one. Kroger grocery stores have stepped up as a major sponsor for our series. We will now have a points fund for our young competitors. The way this will work is that at the end of the year the winner of the points will receive a US Savings Bond of $800 and the runner up will receive $400. Third place through tenth will each receive $100 in a savings bond. This is great news to share with our Jr. Drivers since we do have some of the best drivers around. Timing Tim Bodrey **************************** We're located directly across from RAY'S PAINT & BODY SHOP on Georgia Hwy. 96, less than a mile west of Reynolds. Directions on Map Quest and others are incorrect as E-911 is being implemented and GA 96 has changed routing directly through Reynolds. Our new address will be 42 Raceway Drive, but that address is not yet recognized by Map Quest. It can be used as a shipping address. MapQuest and other suppliers of such information are grossly wrong in giving directions to our facility. Simplified directions can be found on our "Directions" page. ******************************
